Our church is a Christ-centered, Bible-believing community led with love, humility, and strength by Brother Herndon and wholly supported by his wife. Together, they model what it means to serve faithfully and walk closely with Jesus, guiding our church family with compassion, wisdom, and integrity.
We believe wholeheartedly in loving our neighbors and building genuine, life-changing relationships with Jesus Christ—our King and the only way to salvation. As a church family, we are committed to growing continually through Scripture study, honest discussions, and meaningful fellowship. We strive to be a place where every person is welcomed, valued, and loved from the moment they walk through our doors.
We joyfully embrace anyone who chooses to worship with us, regardless of background or past, believing that God can touch lives and change hearts, and that change can only occur by hearing and responding to the Word of God. We would also welcome those who repent, or have repented of their sins, committed their life to the Lord Jesus Christ and been baptized to become a permanent part of our church family through membership. We want everyone to know they have opportunity for a home at Unity Baptist Church.
Our church places a special emphasis on raising up the next generation to be devoted followers of Christ. We believe our youth are not just the future of the church—they are an active, vital part of it today. Investing in them through teaching, discipleship, and encouragement is one of our greatest callings and blessings.
More than anything, we desire to reflect the love of Jesus in all we do and to be a community where people encounter His presence, truth, and grace in a real, life-changing way!
Unity Baptist Church exists to glorify God, share the gospel of Jesus Christ, make disciples, and build a loving, Spirit-led church community where lives are transformed by God’s Word.
We believe in one sovereign God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator and Ruler of all things and reveals Himself to us through His Word.
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word. It is completely true and is the final guide for faith and life.
We believe humanity was created in God’s image yet fell into sin, resulting in separation from God and universal need for salvation.
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, accomplished through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. All who repent and believe in Him are forgiven, made new, and eternally secure in Him.
We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, the only Savior, who lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return in glory to judge the world and reign forever.
We believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin, regenerates sinners, indwells believers, empowers Christian living, and gifts the church for ministry.
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, made up of all believers, and expressed in local congregations. Each local church is autonomous under the lordship of Christ and commissioned to make disciples of all nations.
We believe baptism is the immersion of a believer in water, symbolizing new life in Christ, and that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial of His sacrifice. Both are ordinances given to the church.
We believe in religious liberty, the independence of church and state, and the responsibility of each believer to live faithfully under Christ’s lordship.
We believe the family is ordained by God as the foundational institution of society. Marriage is the covenant union of one man and one woman, and parents are to nurture their children in the faith.
We believe believers are called to live holy lives, showing love for God and neighbor, seeking justice, caring for the vulnerable, and spreading the gospel to the ends of the earth.
